LOCATION
My therapy room is a safe, comfortable and confidential space in the heart of the city centre. Located in the Lace Market, it is easily accessible by public transport including the tram. For cyclists, there are bike racks available two minutes away on Weekday Cross, between Pitcher & Piano and the Contemporary. Alternatively, the Lace Market car park is very close at hand.
CREATIVITY
Whilst some clients prefer to talk through their feelings, others find the use of creative materials help them process as their therapeutic journey unfolds. My room is therefore equipped with various materials for you to use if you wish. These include coloured pens and paper, stones, buttons, shells, nesting dolls and cards to help you consider your childhood experiences and family relationships. Whilst all these resources are available to you, I would never insist you use them, nor direct you to them… they are always your choice.
THERAPEUTIC MODELS
If you are interested in working with therapeutic models, I have printed materials which we can use as a basis for our work together. Models that I offer include Rogers’ Actualising Tendency to help you understand the decisions you make and why, Karpman’s Drama Triangle to help you consider difficult relationships, Stroebe & Schutt’s Dual Process Model to help you cope with difficult days and Dr Wilson’s River of Life, to support you through loss and change.
