Clients are invited to pay their fees before each session by BACS. For face-to-face sessions I can take cash but may not always be able to offer change.

Please note that I review my fees each year.  However you will be notified in advance regarding any increase to your fee and I will always work with you to ensure your therapy remains accessible.

What is your cancellation policy?

I operate a 24 hour cancellation policy. Non-attendance or less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a 50% cancellation charge.

How long does each session last?

All sessions are 50 minutes’ duration.

How many sessions will I need?

I can offer you short-term solution-focussed sessions or longer term therapy, depending on your requirements. It’s ultimately up to you how many sessions you would like to have and this is something we can discuss at your first session. I also recommend regular reviews so that we can talk about how counselling is going for you. Although you are free to end counselling at any point without obligation, I would recommend we work together towards an ending where possible.

What happens during the first session?

During the initial session I will carry out an assessment to check I’m the right person to help you. This session also gives you opportunity to ask me questions too, to check I’m the right person for you. I encourage you to ask as many questions as you like as I believe the initial assessment is a two-way process. I will also ensure you have copies of my working agreement and privacy policy, and will give you opportunity to ask questions about these as well.

What happens if you are unable to help me?

If I’m unable to offer you counselling, I will suggest information on other agencies or organisations who will be better placed to support you. Information on some of these agencies is also available on my ‘useful information and support’ page.

What happens if I still have questions?

I am always happy to answer any questions you may have, so please feel free to contact me with queries. I can also offer you an initial 30-minute telephone conversation with no obligation, should you wish to discuss your queries with me in person.
